Judy Ellis (Steed)

Judith E. Steed
1948 - 2018
Judith Ann Ellis Steed passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 in the comfort of her home and with family at her side. She was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1948 in Salt Lake City to John Henry Ellis and Wanda Letitia Larson. Judith graduated from Davis High School and attended Brigham Young University, where she studied Speech Therapy.
Judith was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and held positions in the Relief Society and Young Women presidency. On June 20th, 1969 she married the love of her life for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City temple. Judith and Steven would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this coming spring.
Judith had a lifelong love of music, and pursued piano training through high school and college, even hauling the family piano into her modest college apartment. She performed with the Davis High D'Ettes drill team, and often sang in ward choirs. Judith added a creative flair to everything she did, and she enjoyed digital photography and all types of crafts. She had great patience and attention to detail, virtues which can be seen in her works of calligraphy.
Judith grew up in Farmington, Utah and spent time in Syracuse, Provo, and Salt Lake City. Their life together took them to Chicago, IL and Monterey, CA, adventures which she cherished. They returned to Utah to raise their family in Salt Lake City, and later settled in her childhood city of Farmington.
Judith fought cancer with great courage and determination, a battle she carried with grace and dignity for 10 years.
She is survived by her husband Steven Steed, Farmington, UT; 3 children, Jason (Heather), Syracuse, UT, Rebecca (Dan) Waters, Rockledge, FL, Jonathan (Brandy), Redmond, WA; and her 7 grandchildren, Nick, Savannah, Mitchell, Russell, Erin, Ryan, and Gavin. Judith is preceded in death by her parents John and Wanda.
