Kenny Horne

Kenny Horne

The heavens rejoiced on Saturday morning, May 23, 2009 to welcome back Kenneth Jay Horne "Kenny", who passed away after a two-and-a-half year battle with cancer: Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. We will dearly miss his unconditional love, kindness, wisdom, dignity, loyalty, and service to all who knew him.

We will miss his example, but his influence will always be with us. He put others before himself - constantly helping and praying for those who were special in his life. He made everyone feel like the most important person, best friend, or favorite child or grandchild. He was a graduate of Davis High School and Weber State University.

An engineer by trade, he could fix anything, whether with his professional design and manufacturing work, rebuilding the family boats, the numerous cars he fixed for almost anyone who knew him or countless other projects. Kenny could never turn away a friend in need - and everyone was his friend.

Kenny was faithful in his church service, serving an LDS mission in the Northern States and working in numerous church callings, including service as a hosting missionary with his wife at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for the last 10 years. He loved sharing his testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Kenny was a native of Kaysville, born January 27, 1948 to Owen and Mildred Horne, who preceded him in death along with two brothers, Richard and Harold. A loving husband and father, family was everything to him.

Our family bought our raw milk from Kenny's father.  Lots of yummy cream on the top.  When I was young I spent time with Kenny on his father's farm.  Good memories.  He was a good friend.
