KAYSVILLE - Kathy Hovey passed away Saturday, January 21, 2006 at her home after a courageous fight with cancer which began in September 2003. She accomplished much in her short life, and courageously faced challenges. Kathy was born March 10, 1948 in Laramie, Wyoming. She was the daughter of H. Glenn Austin and Evelyn Morse Austin of Kaysville. Kathy was a DeEtte dancer and graduated from Davis High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Sam Hovey, June 8, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple. After being stationed in Germany for two years they returned to Kaysville and began their family. Due to the importance of raising her children, she delayed her career as a CPA. Kathy was currently a partner in the firm Carver, Hovey and Florek. She was also a member of the Layton Chamber of Commerce and enjoyed this interaction with the community. Kathy was loved and respected by many clients and professional colleagues. Kathy was an active and committed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she served in numerous callings. She was a beloved daughter of our Heavenly Father and was very spiritually gifted. She had a talent for making things around her beautiful through decorating and gardening and received many awards. Kathy's greatest joy was her family and she will be greatly missed. Kathy is survived by her husband, Sam; four children, Michelle Healy, Ryan Hovey, Chet (Tanya) Hovey, and Melissa (Steven) Tibbitts;
